This was my artist statement:
“My intention is to invoke a simultaneous attraction and repulsion. I want you to question your perception. These are images from pathology texts that I have manipulated in order to beautify them. I am making the abject attractive. This action is akin to finding the good side of a bad situation. For me they are a metaphor for coping and acceptance. They are a metaphor for the space between expectation and actual outcome.”
